nchanté Wrote ‘Tha Come Down’ After an Argument, and It Still Feels Like Flying
Jenson Joseph-Ingham’s project turns romantic vulnerability into a wish to stay up in the air a little longer.
‘Tha Come Down’ keeps going back to the feeling of being lifted by another person. nchanté’s imagery runs through height, flight and the fear of touching back down, so love feels like freedom and a loss of control at the same time.
Per the artist’s press materials, nchanté is the project of writer and producer Jenson Joseph-Ingham. He says the song started next to his wife after an argument. Knowing that, the lines about lowering your guard hit with extra weight, because the high comes packaged with the work of making yourself vulnerable all over again.
Joseph-Ingham is upfront about how the track got made, too. According to the materials he sent, he wrote the lyrics and built out the melody and arrangement, then assembled AI-generated vocal versions. His nephew handled the mix and master at Wizzard House Studios.
The central image stays human and close to the skin. After a fight, getting close again can feel like a sudden jump in altitude, and ‘Tha Come Down’ is all about holding on to that feeling before gravity kicks back in.
