Makhyli Makes Them Wait on “Keep You Waiting”
The former Boys World singer turns patience into a dare on an October 28 solo release with a quotable hook and room for a bigger melodic turn.
“I’ll keep you waiting, gotta be patient for me.” Makhyli puts the warning right in the chorus of “Keep You Waiting.” There is no chase scene here. The person seeking her attention can get comfortable waiting for it.
The former Boys World singer’s October 28 solo single moves that attitude through a bass-heavy trap-pop beat. At two minutes and 48 seconds, the record works quickly: a big refrain, a deliberately cocky delivery and a line that does not hide the character she is playing: “I got the face, I got the ass, I got the waist, I got the class.”
The hook is the payoff, but it also exposes the song’s one limitation. Makhyli rarely steps out of that same sharp, bratty register in the verses. A moment that lets the melody breathe would give the next chorus more impact. Without that shift, the attitude does more lifting than the arrangement.
Still, the record is clear about whose terms matter. Makhyli makes patience sound less like a virtue than a price of admission. “Keep You Waiting” is available through the official Makhyli Music release on Apple Music and Spotify.
