HomeSenseMatty Closes “Debut Sound” With a Vow on “Till Death”
The Afrobeats-leaning closer makes devotion its whole refrain. It creates a mood, though one more verse could tell the story behind the promise.

HomeSenseMatty ends the mixtape Debut Sound by making a promise. “Till Death” opens with a declaration of love, circles it again, and barely lets it leave the room. That repetition is the point: this is the closing track built to sound like a vow.
The song leans into an Afrobeats rhythm that keeps moving while the vocal stays fixed on one person. The opening refrain looks back at the first time the narrator saw that person. By roughly the minute mark, the promise has narrowed to an exclusive devotion, a thought repeated until the listener can anticipate the next return.
At around 1:12, a rap verse briefly changes the texture. It brings the act of falling for somebody into the foreground, rather than leaving everything inside the wordless sway of the hook. That turn is useful. It suggests an entire relationship behind the chorus and gives the record a little momentum before the refrain comes back.
As a mixtape finale, the structure makes sense. A debut often tries to announce everything its creator can do. Ending with a love song built around the same pledge has a different effect: HomeSenseMatty leaves the listener with one feeling instead of another flex.
But the focus also limits the song. The hook takes up so much of the roughly two-and-a-half-minute running time that the short verse cannot carry the whole story. Some of its faster phrases are difficult to make out, and the final stretch repeats the central thought without revealing much more about the people involved.
One additional verse could deepen what “Till Death” is actually promising. How did they meet? What made this relationship feel permanent? The song already has the mood; more specifics would give the vow stakes. That is where this songwriting approach could move from catchy devotion toward a story someone remembers.
Still, there is a deliberate choice in closing Debut Sound on this record. HomeSenseMatty is treating commitment as the last word of an introduction, and the warm bounce makes that idea easy to carry out of the project.
