Before “Another Level,” Caged Monk Built a Catalog Around the Mind

The rapper's 2025 single came with little background in its submission. The seven-track Wordology album and an earlier artist statement fill in some of that picture.

A song called “Another Level” arrives with its own challenge: the artist has to give listeners a reason to believe the title. Caged Monk's 3:35 recording was submitted with almost no background, putting the weight on the music and a memorable name.

FVTV's original curator review described the performance as hungry and locked in. That is an assessment of the recording, not a substitute for knowing who made it. A look at the public releases attached to Caged Monk gives the single more context than the original submission provided.

The single has a release history

Amazon Music lists “Another Level” as a standalone single dated July 13, 2025. The running time is three minutes and thirty-five seconds. Spotify carries the track under the same title and artist name. These listings establish a public release, but they do not make the song a brand-new 2026 debut.

The title and the original curator response convey a direct sense of ambition. The harder question is what that ambition is connected to. For Caged Monk, the surrounding catalog is the place to start looking.

Wordology points to a larger idea

The public Apple Music and Amazon Music catalogs list a second July 13, 2025 release, the seven-song album “Wordology.” It runs about 26 minutes and includes titles such as “Brain Dance,” “No Comprehension,” “High Definition,” “Anti-Material” and “Ground Zero.”

Those titles do not establish what every verse is about. They do show a recurring interest in perception, language and how people process the world. “Another Level” makes more sense as part of that larger presentation than as an isolated slogan.

The album artwork reinforces that reading visually: a bright outline of a head opens into a cage, with a small figure inside. It is an unusually literal way to portray the push and pull between thought and confinement.

An older artist statement offers a starting point

An August 2021 ArtistPR release issued under the Caged Monk name described a self-taught hip-hop songwriter and producer working out of Uxbridge, Ontario. It introduced a project called “Split Mind” and said its recording took nine months in an independent home studio. The artist spoke there about improving the craft and making music with an underlying message.

That 2021 promotional account is a statement from an earlier point in the career. It should not be treated as a current biography or proof of unreported milestones. Still, the themes it identifies sit naturally beside the later “Wordology” track titles and the visual language of the records.

The “Split Mind” artwork accompanying the earlier release puts a shadowed human figure inside a geometric frame. Four years later, “Wordology” also uses confinement and thought as its visual vocabulary. The repeated imagery is a useful connection, even without assigning an unverified explanation to the artist.

What another level looks like from here

There are still questions a release listing cannot answer: what changed between the earlier writing and the 2025 projects, how the artist arrived at the name, and what “Another Level” was intended to measure. Those are questions for Caged Monk to answer directly.

What the available record establishes is a body of work broader than one submitted song. “Another Level” is the entry point. The catalog behind it is where the story starts taking shape.
