B'JANAE'S “GALATIANS” FINDS FAITH IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CLIMB.
Her 2021 single is built on an honest question: how do you keep moving when you cannot see what's on the other side?

B'Janae doesn't open “Galatians” with the relief of somebody who already made it out. She starts with the weight of what she's survived and what still feels unfinished. The faith is there from bar one, and so is the doubt, sitting right next to it.
Their tug-of-war is the heartbeat of this R&B and soul record. The Atlanta singer-songwriter keeps “Galatians” on her own artist page among her releases, and the song carries the hush of a prayer said when nobody else is in the room.
The mountain she can't see over
The sharpest pen work comes early. B'Janae wants to know what's past the mountain in front of her, then catches herself: seeing the other side ahead of time could kill the reason to keep climbing. Way more interesting than some greeting-card promise that things get better. Belief here means moving with no guaranteed view of the ending.
When the song turns to the Book of Galatians and the relationships that test a person's convictions, the recurring prayer-through-the-night refrain holds it down. Later, an image of golden streets stretches the meaning past one rough season, and she's weighing today's struggle against something bigger.
The writing deserves another listen
The performance sounds most convincing when it feels like thinking aloud. The instrumental swells in places and pushes her voice farther back than the words deserve. The refrain also runs long enough that the final stretch loses some of the impact built earlier in the song.
Those rough edges are fixable, a new mix could handle plenty of it, and the heart is all there. “Galatians,” first released in May 2021, already has the hard part locked: an image worth remembering and a voice that sounds invested in every step of the climb.
